North Bay Kenpo Martial Arts offers training in self-defense, stance and movement, and practical skills and techniques through exercise and conditioning, drills that strengthen and condition, and other skill building activities. Classes include work on focus, motor coordination, listening skills, discipline, confidence, respect, goal-setting, and achievement, along with building physical and mental strength, improving stamina, improving strength, improving flexibility, and relieving stress. Programs are offered for PeeWees, kids, teens, and adults, with practical self-defense included for adults.

North Bay Kenpo Martial Arts states that it is about more than just self-defense and that it helps students improve their mind, body, and spirit. The PeeWees class focuses on foundational basics, teaching stance and movement through a curriculum that emphasizes listening skills, self-control, and having fun. The kids program focuses on having fun while developing a strong work ethic and a strong foundation of stance and movement, with skill building activities and drills that strengthen and condition while learning to practice on a partner safely. The teens program is described as providing a safe haven for teenage development and is about positive social interaction, learning practical skills and techniques focused on function and application, with respect and safety emphasized. The adults program includes practical self-defense while safely exercising and conditioning to be stronger physically, mentally, and spiritually in an environment that is described as friendly, welcoming, and encouraging.

The leadership team includes Master Jordan Penman, Chief Instructor and Owner; Sensei Brandon, Assistant Instructor; and Sensei Anthony, Assistant Instructor. Master Penman has dedicated the past 25 years of his life to the martial arts, is a sixth-degree black belt, and opened the San Rafael Dojo in 2000. Sensei Brandon is a third degree black belt, has been training in Shaolin Kenpo for 25 years, and has studied a variety of other martial arts. Sensei Anthony is a second degree black belt, has trained for seventeen years in Shaolin Kenpo and three years of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, and has been training with Master Penman for the last nine years. Sensei Jordan incorporates the “why” and the “how” in a way that is described as helping students achieve their full potential. Sensei Brandon combines the practical and tactical essence into his style of teaching the formal aspects of martial arts. Sensei Anthony teaches group classes and private instruction to students of all ages in the classical, practical, and tactical values and philosophies at North Bay Kenpo.
