Novato Lacrosse Club

Novato Lacrosse Club offers youth the chance to learn and play the game of lacrosse. The program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the game and encouraging player development and sportsmanship for boys and girls. Young athletes receive quality instruction and focused development in lacrosse as they participate on organized teams.

Founded in 1969, Novato Lacrosse Club is the oldest lacrosse club in California and is celebrating its 50th year. It is a non-profit program run by a team of volunteers and draws players, coaches, and volunteers from a diverse community. The club provides a recreational opportunity to play lacrosse for boys and girls ages 5–14 and is recognized around Northern California as a premier lacrosse club, with over 250 active girls and boys playing across 15 teams. The boys varsity program won ten consecutive Northern California Club Championships and five consecutive State Club Championships from 1975 to 1985, and its teams are recognized for their skill, their love of the game, and a high level of sportsmanship.

The Novato Lacrosse Club’s mission is to provide the community’s youth an exceptional lacrosse experience, including life-long lessons of sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership while encouraging the love of the sport. The club is described as a safe, fun, and inclusive youth sports program, with coaches and volunteer staff dedicated to reinforcing commitment to sportsmanship, teamwork, and fun. It provides the youth of Novato and the surrounding area an opportunity to learn and play lacrosse while competing against other lacrosse programs locally in Marin and surrounding Northern California communities, with a commitment to accommodating as many recreational players as possible while also providing world-class competitive opportunities for advanced players.
