Aim High Summer is designed for current 5th–8th grade middle school students who have limited access to summer academic enrichment programs and is committed to a multi-summer learning experience beginning in 5th grade through 8th grade. The program uses restorative practices for behavior expectations and interventions, and it is guided by CORE values of Community, Opportunity, Respect, and High Expectations. The Issues & Choices class offers age-appropriate lessons and activities to explore identity, develop social emotional skills, and create plans for the future. Early Drop Off starting at 8:00am and Extended Care until 5:00pm are offered at the Oakland, San Pablo, Richmond, Napa, San Rafael, and San Jose campuses. Oakland Unified School District students are directed to apply through Inplay. One Aim High parent describes the program as a lifeline as a working parent, noting confidence that their child experiences both fun and learning, easy communication, strong program offerings, enjoyable instructors, and exposure to middle school-style transitions, enrichment opportunities, new sports, and mentorship.
