Acta Non Verba Youth Programs

Acta Non Verba Youth Programs offers hands-on activities that include farming and urban farming, farm-to-table cooking, art, archery, leadership, outdoor exploration, and wellness. Camp ANV activities also include field trips to different East Bay Regional Parks, swim lessons, sailing, farming activities, a BBQ field day, and Tassafaronga Field Day. Youth take part in arts, science, literacy, cooking, nutrition, fitness, and movement activities as part of the program.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Camp ANV 2026 Spring Break Mini Camp runs April 6–10, 2026, with field trip days on Monday and Friday, swim day on Tuesday, sailing day on Wednesday, and Tassafaronga Field Day on Thursday.
• Price: Summer: $750/week per camper, with a minimum deposit of $150 per camper per week; Summer Camp ANV is free for Tassafaronga residents, and camperships are available upon request.

Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm Project’s mission is to elevate access to the natural environment. Acta Non Verba stewards three urban farms: West Oakland Farm Park, ANV Farm @ Tassafaronga Park, and WOW Farm. Programs are described as joyful, just, and radically rooted in community self-determination, and the name Acta Non Verba means “DEEDS, not words.” Founded and led mainly by women and People of Color, ANV engages youth and families in outdoor spaces in Oakland and the East Bay, CA.

Since 2012, Camp ANV has been a cornerstone of learning, growth, and joy for Oakland youth. Additional ways to support Camp ANV include donating, volunteering, sponsoring a camper through the Pay-It-Forward program, and joining the CSA. Through the Time to Thrive Initiative Time Bank, every hour volunteered equals $21 toward CSA, Camp ANV, or Backyard Garden services, and families can earn up to 75% off programs. For Tuesday Swim Day, campers are asked to bring a swimsuit, and activities and food are included for Tassafaronga Field Day.
