About

Camp Galileo offers hands-on STEAM projects, small group design challenges, outdoor games, and traditional camp fun like crafts, songs, skits, cheers, lanyards, silly songs, face painting, pie throwing, and Water Day. Campers work on building projects and creating projects that range from coral reefs and castles to robots and go-karts, along with activities like engineering launchers, engineering golf-courses, putting on mini Olympics, planning flash mobs, crafting flair, and leading skits. Campers also have outdoor time, lunch and free play, and a nut-free snack break, and many continue singing songs from camp at home.

• Ages: 5–16 years old
• Schedule: Camp day 9am–3pm, with optional extended care from 8–9am and 3–6pm

Camp Galileo’s curriculum is created by a year-round team of teachers, artists, makers and engineers, and combines STEAM exploration and outdoor fun for kids in grades K–10. Nebula campers (K–1st) and Star campers (2nd–3rd) work on 1–2 day, age-appropriate projects individually and in small groups, Supernova campers (4th–5th) complete small group challenges and longer individual projects, and Meteors (6th–8th) focus on one epic individual project throughout the week. Counselors in Training engage in leadership development activities, own projects within a camp aspect of their choosing, and participate in mentoring younger kids and shadowing K–5th-grade campers. Weekly Water Day is described as a Camp Galileo tradition, and campers take home individual, polished STEAM projects at the end of the week.

Camp Galileo operates award-winning summer camps and expanded learning programs and is now enrolling for Summer 2026. The program serves 90+ communities, has worked with over 570,000 young innovators, and has provided over 49,000 scholarships, operating 60+ camps across five regions. For over 20 years, Camp Galileo has delivered hands-on STEAM projects, outdoor play and summer activities to hundreds of thousands of campers. The mission of Galileo is that summer is a time for joyful, friend-filled fun and a time to learn.

Parents describe Camp Galileo as a joyful environment where kids enjoy counselors, projects, games and activities, and look forward to returning every summer. One parent reports that their child had a lot of fun building things and making new friends and called it an exciting educational experience with a lot of engagement and learning. Another parent notes that their kids loved all the building projects, are still singing songs from camp, and that they plan to return next summer for longer. A parent from Laguna Niguel reports that their kids come home thinking more independently and deeply than before.
