About
Children’s Fairyland Camps and Youth Programs include activities where children explore magical playsets, meet friendly animals, watch puppet shows, enjoy rides and live performances, and take part in hands-on fun. Some programs also include a catered dinner and Oakland’s Magic Kitchen, a kid-friendly culinary adventure and cooking show.

Children’s Fairyland Camps and Youth Programs are part of a nonprofit organization that has been operating since 1950 and has been enchanting children for more than 70 years. The organization’s mission is to remain a magical fantasy world where young children can create, imagine, play, and learn. It is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and was one of the first parks designed for children when it opened, with fairytale sets crafted by architect William Russell Everitt and gardens designed by businessman Arthur Navlet, with some original plantings still thriving. The Children’s Theatre program “Fairyland Personalities” was created in 1956 and is still part of Fairyland’s Children’s Theatre, and Walt Disney visited the park and incorporated some ideas into Disneyland. The leadership team includes CEO Kymberly Miller and senior directors for education, facilities, marketing and communications, operations, philanthropy, and events. Community involvement includes teaming up with top chefs for Oakland’s Magic Kitchen, hosting the annual “Once Upon a Time at Fairyland” fundraising gala, and providing affordable admission that allows 4,000 low-income children to attend for free each year.
