Destiny Arts Center

Destiny Arts Center offers martial arts, Little Tigers Martial Arts, Teddy Bear Movement, Little Breakers Breakdance, Youth Breakdancing, Breakdancing Demo Team, Youth Hip Hop, African Dance, Teen Hip Hop, Advanced Youth Hip Hop, and Camp Destiny. Camp Destiny includes dance, martial arts, visual arts, mindfulness, and outdoor play.

• Ages: 3–18 years old
• General schedule: Classes at the center are offered throughout the year. Fall 2026 classes begin on September 21 and conclude with Love in Action on Saturday, December 12. Camp Destiny serves youth ages 5-13 in summer 2026.

About the provider

Destiny Arts Center was founded in 1988 and has worked in Oakland for over 30 years. Its mission is to inspire and ignite social change through the arts. The center partners with the Alameda County Community Food Bank to provide healthy snacks and maintains a community food pantry open to anyone in need.

All classes are pay what you can and no one is turned away for lack of funds. Payment plans and coupon codes are available. Families are asked to contribute what they can. Oakland residents and BIPOC students are prioritized on the waitlist. Camp Destiny is pay-what-you-can, spaces are limited and first-come, first-served. Camp Destiny prioritizes Oakland’s Black and Brown residents.
