Kids Outdoor Sports Camp offers activities such as hunter education course and test, marksmanship, archery, fishing, nature walks, wildlife observation, group games, a 3-D archery course, climbing into and out of a tree stand, and hunt simulations. Beginner Camp includes completion of the full Hunter Education course and test. All Beginner, Advanced, and Elite Camps are overnight (sleep away) programs.
• Schedule: Beginner Camps run Sunday afternoon–Thursday afternoon for 5 days/4 nights; Advanced Camps run Sunday afternoon–Friday afternoon for 6 days/5 nights; Elite Camps run Sunday afternoon–Friday afternoon for 6 days/5 nights.
Kids Outdoor Sports Camp was founded in 1998 by Judy Oswald, who remains actively involved in the camps. Kids Outdoor Sports Camp is celebrating its 27th year of summer camps, after starting its first year in the summer of 1998. Over 26 years and 27 summer camps, Kids Outdoor Sports Camp has hosted over 200 campers each summer and has trained thousands of kids in California. The program is dedicated to building the next generation of outdoor and conservation leaders to ensure a bright future for California hunting, angling, shooting sports, archery, and outdoor sports. Kids Outdoor Sports Camp is a registered 501(c)3 organization. Advanced Camp II is the third level of the Outdoor Conservation Explorer Program, and Elite Camp Two is the fifth level of this program. Elite Camp admission is selective, and campers choose a specialty track such as advanced archery, big game strategy, marksmanship, or conservation science. Kids Outdoor Sports Camp partners with Wing & Barrel Ranch, which emphasizes environmental sustainability and land stewardship and integrates farming, hunting, and shooting activities. Bird Haven Ranch is thanked along with Paul and Sandi Bonderson, and Bird Haven Ranch is described as a premiere waterfowl engagement site located in the Pacific Flyway. Wing & Barrel Ranch partners with Point Blue Conservation Science to implement ecological initiatives.
