Quest Therapeutic Camps

Quest Therapeutic Camps offers a combined recreational and therapeutic program that uses play as the focus of intervention. Campers take part in group therapy, supervised activities, swim, and Quests such as sports, music, science, robotics, animation, drama, art, and journalism. The summer camp runs 9:00 AM-3:00 PM daily for six weeks, five days per week, and the afterschool program meets once a week from 4:00-6:00 p.m. for three 10-week sessions each school year.

Robert Field, PhD founded Quest Therapeutic Camps. The site states that he is a CA Licensed Psychologist (PSY 5705A). It also states that Quest began with 20 campers per week in the first year and has grown to over 100 campers per week. The site says Quest is vendorized by the Regional Center of the East Bay and is an approved ESY program. Summer staff includes 5 therapists with at least a Master's degree in counseling.

Campers are assigned to groups based on age, gender and functional level. All new campers are professionally screened before attendance and individualized treatment plans are created from screening and parent input. Children with severe aggressiveness or serious psychological problems are not appropriate. The site says children with a history of aggressive behavior are not accepted. Diagnosis is not necessary.
