Devil Pups Youth Program for America has used the phrase “Growth through challenge since 1954.” Its stated mission is to challenge, educate and help young boys and girls of all backgrounds to learn self-confidence and responsibility for their actions. The program’s vision is to have a powerful, positive impact on the quality of life of young men and women in the community by educating and training them in their citizenship, moral and ethical responsibilities as they grow into adulthood. Devil Pups is a community service not-for-profit charity, and Devil Pups, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity as defined by the Internal Revenue Service. Devil Pups is entirely funded by donations from patrons, and all expenses are paid for by the Devil Pups Corporation. The name “Devil Pups” is derived from Marine Corps history in World War I, when Germans referred to Marines as “TeufelsHunde” or Devil Hounds during the 1918 battle of Belleau Wood, and the media later modified the term to “Devil Dogs.” The program uses the phrase “Devil Pups Never Quit.”
