Amplify Arts Project has been empowering girls through music education, the creative arts, community, and positive mentorship since 2012. Its mission is to empower girls through music education, the creative arts, community, and positive mentorship. The program includes a youth-run record label and internship program and offers AMPLIFY WEEKEND. For 6th–12th graders, the program offers a carefully curated menu of daily activities focused around music, the creative arts, connecting, recharging, chilling, and feeling good. The organization states that nearly 80% of its budget goes directly to programs every year and that it provides brave, diverse, and inclusive spaces to youth while creating an equitable world that celebrates creativity, embraces authenticity, and values all voices. It describes itself as an inclusive organization dedicated to uplifting and supporting anyone who identifies as a girl, woman, and/or non-binary person.
One testimonial describes guest mentors who made a participant feel that “no matter who you are, you can accomplish anything, especially in the male-dominated music industry.” Another testimonial from a parent says Amplify is “one of the BEST THINGS WE EVER DID for our girls,” and notes that the daughter “went on for at least an hour raving about what an awesome time she had and how nice everyone was,” and that the child “felt truly loved by each and everyone there and had the very best time.” A camper and intern named Esmé says she has been coming to Amplify for five years and that every year she “fall[s] in love with it even more” and is “always astonished with all of the talent and love in this program.” Another testimonial calls Amplify “an incredible experience for any girl looking to make new friends, learn new skills, and feel brave and empowered this summer.” A parent of a participant in Ojai reports that their child “produced, filmed, and edited a professional music video and showcased it for everyone,” and says, “She had a blast! We’ll be back next year.” The organization invites the community to “join us in changing the world by uplifting and empowering hundreds of youth through accessible, equitable programs.”
