About
ISR East Bay offers survival swimming lessons for infants and young children through the ISR Self-Rescue® program. The program provides survival swimming lessons for children 6 months to 6 years of age, taught by a Certified ISR Instructor.
• Ages: 6 months–6 years old
ISR East Bay is led by Kymberlea Troye, a Certified ISR Instructor. ISR’s core conviction is that the child is the most important part of a drowning prevention strategy. ISR Self-Rescue® instruction is the product of over 50 years of research and was founded in 1966 by Dr. Harvey Barnett. ISR is now the global leader in the industry it pioneered: survival swimming lessons for infants and young children, with nearly 450 highly trained ISR Instructors, over 300,000 ISR graduates, and 800 documented survival stories. ISR describes its survival swimming lessons as the safest and most effective survival swimming lessons available and as the safest provider of survival swimming lessons for children 6 months to 6 years of age, and it promotes a multi-layered approach to drowning prevention including pool fences, supervision, and pool alarms. ISR established its Community of Caring Scholarship Program in 2007 to help give back and to provide lessons to children in need.
Parents have shared their experiences with ISR East Bay, including: “Kym is a true master of her skills and is absolutely amazing. I am forever thankful for what she has taught my daughter!” (Allie F.). Another parent said, “It was incredible and emotional to see. I cried tears of joy knowing my son would be able to save himself in the same situation that nearly killed him a year ago.” (Katrina R.). A third parent shared, “I have no doubt that she can save herself if she would accidentally come in contact with the water. This program is not only effective, but I am confident that it's life-saving. Best time and money spent.” (Mallory T.).
