About

ISR East Bay offers survival swimming lessons and Self-Rescue instruction for infants and young children. The program focuses on aquatic safety and provides survival swimming lessons for children 6 months to 6 years of age.

• Ages: 0–6 years old

ISR East Bay is part of a program founded in 1966 by Dr. Harvey Barnett. ISR’s core conviction is that the child is the most important part of a drowning prevention strategy. Instruction at ISR East Bay is led by Kymberlea Troye, a Certified ISR Instructor. ISR Self-Rescue instruction is the product of over 50 years of research, with over 300,000 ISR graduates and 800 documented survival stories. ISR is described as the global leader in the industry it pioneered: survival swimming lessons for infants and young children, and as the safest provider of survival swimming lessons for children 6 months to 6 years of age. ISR established its Community of Caring Scholarship Program in 2007 to provide lessons to children in need.

Parents have shared feedback about the program, including: “Kym is a true master of her skills and is absolutely amazing. I am forever thankful for what she has taught my daughter!” (Allie F.). Another parent said, “It was incredible and emotional to see. I cried tears of joy knowing my son would be able to save himself in the same situation that nearly killed him a year ago.” (Katrina R.). A third parent shared, “I have no doubt that she can save herself if she would accidentally come in contact with the water. This program is not only effective, but I am confident that it's life-saving. Best time and money spent.” (Mallory T.).
