About the provider

Adventure Out was founded in 2004. Its leadership team includes Alan Yu, Jack Harrison, Mimi Fenech, Chase LaRue, and Cliff Hodges. Adventure Out says it is California’s premiere outdoor school, the Bay Area’s premiere surf school, and the only beginner surfing beach in the San Francisco area is Pacifica. It also says it is the only NSSIA Accredited Surf School in Santa Cruz and the San Francisco Bay Area. The program says its instructors are licensed to teach at beaches, lifeguard and first-aid certified, and trained in the instructor program. Adventure Out donates a portion of reservation fees to environmental conservation.

Private and corporate programs are available for corporate retreats & team building, private school groups, and birthday parties, wedding, family reunions, & more. Adventure Out says its guides are professional outdoor guides. Surf instructors are licensed to teach at beaches, lifeguard & first-aid certified, and climbing instructors are AMGA, PCGI, or PCIA trained. All instructors/guides have 7-10+ years of experience and have undergone rigorous teacher training.
