Classical Ballet of California offers Pre-Ballet classes, Level 1 through Advanced ballet classes, and ballet classes specifically for boys ages 6–11 years old. The program also offers a Contemporary class on Fridays, daily ballet classes for children and adults from beginning to professional levels, and options for Pre-Ballet Trials, Level 1+ Trials, and drop-in classes.

Classical Ballet of California is led by Director Nina Baratova, who has been Director since 1997, and co-director Gregory Amato. Ms. Baratova began her training with the San Francisco Ballet School, continued with Barbara Crockett in Sacramento, and is a former principal with the Sacramento Ballet who has danced leading roles in Swan Lake, Giselle, Romeo & Juliet, Nutcracker, Cinderella, Coppelia, La Fille Mal Gardee, Les Sylphides, and The Sleeping Beauty, as well as contemporary works created for her. She studied at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow on a two-year scholarship after being personally invited by the Academy Director, was a finalist in the 5th International Ballet Competition in Paris where Galina Ulanova was a judge, and received an Emerging Artist Grant in 1997 from the Sacramento Mayor and the Metropolitan Arts Commission. Her teaching experience includes classes for the Deane Dance Center, Sacramento Ballet, and master classes around the country.

As Director, Ms. Baratova has staged productions for the school including Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, La Fille Mal Gardee, Cinderella, Peter Pan, and annual productions of The Nutcracker that incorporate all of the students and volunteer members of the community. In 2002 and 2003, she produced a 22-city, 4-state tour of The Nutcracker with the Russian Festival Ballet of Moscow and local children. Co-director Gregory Amato competed and won the gold medal in the Fred Astaire International Ballroom Dance Competition and is currently training to become a Certified Instructor for Dance for Parkinson’s for people with Parkinson’s disease.

Instructor Aline Carili trained at Mvsika Centro de Estudos in Brazil, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from P.U.C. Goias in Brazil, has danced works by Henri Crossra and as a soloist of Cia at Mvsika Center for Studies, and in the United States has performed the work of Gregory Amato and Carlos Carvajal. Aline is currently a member of Peninsula Ballet Theatre and teaches the Contemporary class on Fridays at Classical Ballet of California. Instructor Minna has been professionally trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Modern Dance, began professional studies at Ballet Arts in Tucson, Arizona, and has studied at master classes and workshops at the University of Arizona, Vienna Opera Ballet School, Vienna Conservatory Ballet, Performance Studies, and Musical Theatre Dance at PBT.
