Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Mike Murrell's Cave Academy offers traditional Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, self-defense, bully-proofing, and both Gi and No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The program also includes wrestling, an optional competition class, and separate kids martial arts classes for ages 4–8 and 8–13.

Head Instructor Michael “Mike” Murrell is a 2nd Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and Judo Black Belt with over 20 years of experience, and he serves as Founder and Head Instructor of the academy. Frank “Papa” Nuñez, the Head Gi Instructor, is a 4th Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Ralph Gracie. The academy’s mission states that it uses martial arts as a tool for building character and aims to empower children with skills and values that last a lifetime. The community includes over 20 active black belts who attend classes and help mentor newer students. One parent of a 6-year-old student describes Sensei Mike as patient and supportive and notes that he encourages students to be the best they can be. Another parent reports that their child was initially nervous but now enjoys every class and that attending has raised the child’s confidence when approaching other kids and making friends.
