About

Center Stage Theater Arts (CSTA) is an educational theater arts company where kids take part in acting, dancing, and singing. The program also includes musical theater, tap dancing, costume design, and sewing. Participants work with instructors in areas such as singing, dancing, acting, and costume creation.

• Ages: 6–18 years old

CSTA’s mission statement says it specializes in teaching acting, dancing, and singing to children and young adults, and that it creates shows where kids are the cast. The leadership team includes Kimberly Krol as CSTA Program Director, Wendy Lloyd as Costume Designer & Builder, and John Lehrack as Vocal Instructor. CSTA’s director, Kimberly Krol, has over 30 years of experience in the theater profession as an actress, choreographer, and director. Wendy Lloyd graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) with a degree in Fashion Design in 1998 and from San Francisco State University (SFSU) with a degree in History in 2003, and she teaches sewing skills and costume design. John Lehrack graduated from the Crane School of Music at the State University of New York, Potsdam, and is an instructor for voice, piano, music composition, and conducting; he has sung opera, played piano in bars, and writes original music for piano and chorus. One audience member for Mary Poppins Jr. said, “We secretly thought we were going to have to suffer through children's theatre - but found it to be quality theatre that just happened to be done by kids! Far surpassed anything I was ever involved with at that age!”
