First Tee – Coachella Valley offers junior golf programs that include the Life Skills Program, Little Linksters entry-level golf classes, LPGA/USGA Girls Golf classes, competitive activities, and summer camps. The program also offers continued access to the driving range and course between scheduled sessions, complimentary access to a Par 3 course for participants, one small bucket of range balls per participant per day, and a $12 green fee for parents or guardians playing with an actively enrolled participant. Participants ages 4–6 in Little Linksters must have a parent or guardian chaperone for the entire 60-minute class, and families can indicate during registration if a child needs to borrow golf clubs for class.

First Tee – Coachella Valley is a youth development organization that integrates the game of golf with a life skills curriculum and focuses on building inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience. The Life Skills Program includes the First Tee Key Commitments: Pursuing Goals, Growing through Challenge, Collaborating with Others, Building Positive Self-Identity, and Using Good Judgment. Little Linksters is an entry-level class for the youngest golfers that focuses on First Tee core values and basic golf skills, and LPGA/USGA Girls Golf classes are offered as supplemental, girl-only classes to Life Skills classes. Many scholarship opportunities are available, including partial and full scholarships for the Life Skills Program. First Tee – Coachella Valley states that it is creating deeper connections with kids and families and making golf more fun, interactive, and engaging, and that it is reaching kids of all ages and backgrounds and is the entry point for kids and families to learn about and experience the game.

The mission of First Tee – Coachella Valley is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. For 20 years, First Tee has been changing the sport of golf and working to shape and impact the lives of kids. The leadership team for First Tee – Coachella Valley includes CEO Teal Thron, Program Director – West Valley Emily Jansen, Program Director – East Valley Karla Garcia, and Competitive Activities Director Mike McFaul.

Coachella Valley Youth Golf Foundation and Desert Recreation District are listed as related entities, and Community Partners are referenced. More than 1,000 PGA and LPGA teaching professionals and 25,000 volunteers work together to teach kids the First Tee Key Commitments and life skills. First Tee’s Founding Partners are LPGA, the Masters Tournament, PGA of America, PGA TOUR, and the USGA, with media partner Golf Channel and honorary chair President George W. Bush. Equipment donations can be made at the Golf Center in Palm Desert by speaking with the front counter staff, and parents are not permitted to use the participant’s range balls and must purchase their own.
