About
Elements Dance Space Youth Dance Program includes youth dance classes, Pop Dance BEGINNING, performance teams, intensives, workshops, company rehearsal residencies, private lessons, and an annual dance recital and dance showcase. The program also takes place in a facility that offers dance and fitness classes for youth to adult, from beginners to professionals, and includes adult fitness classes and event space rentals. Pop Dance BEGINNING is beginner friendly, has intimate class sizes, and is offered for multiple age levels.
• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Fall Session Classes run Tuesday, September 2 through Saturday, May 23, with a Fall 2025–2026 Class Schedule also running Tuesday, September 2 through Saturday, May 23; Pop Dance BEGINNING runs January 5 through May 20 with youth classes on Wednesdays at 4:30 PM and adult classes on Wednesdays at 6:00 PM
• Price: Participation Fee for the GROWN-UP GET DOWN Parent Routine is $65 early bird by March 15 or $75 regular price by April 1, including all rehearsals and a Revue shirt
Elements Dance Space lists its mission as being a universal blank canvas for artists, educators, and students, providing limitless opportunities for creation, knowledge, and training to inspire the advancement of every individual within the space. The Directors and Co-Founders are Beau Fournier and Tu DeVera. Staff hiring requirements include a strong background in Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, and/or Tap, experience teaching or working with children preferred, reliable weekday evening and Saturday availability throughout the season, the ability to commit through the recital season, and being organized, dependable, and comfortable leading groups of young dancers.
Beau Fournier has over 14 years in the dance industry, has performed with artists such as Missy Elliot, Tony Braxton, Yelle, and Jennifer Lopez, and has appeared on Disney’s Shake It Up, Honey 2, Hell’s Kitchen, Fox’s Mobbed, Secret Life of an American Teenager, and America’s Got Talent. He created the professional company Maker Empire and has choreographed and directed for BMW, the 2012 Summer Olympics, ABC Mouse, Karmin, and Afrojack, and has danced, instructed, and directed in multiple countries including the Philippines, Japan, Hong Kong, Canada, Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, and many cities throughout the United States. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Education from California State University, Northridge.
Tu DeVera has over 25 years of experience in dance, ran operations at Jayvee Dance Center from 2006 to 2017, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Riverside in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Biology and an emphasis in Business Administration. Tu started dancing at age 11, has extensive hip hop training and over 10 years of training in jazz, ballet, and tap, and has danced with multiple dance companies and performance groups including “909” Hip Hop Dance Troupe, Team Boogiezone – Breed, Groovaholix, Expressive Doubt, Streetease, and L’effleur Des Sens, as well as dancing for the Ladyhawks (Inglewood Blackhawks Semi-Professional Football Team). Tu has been project manager for Maxt Out Urban Hip Hop Dance Competition for numerous years and is currently the Director of Operations for Kinjaz, LLC, Kin Aesthetik, LLC, and Kinjaz Dojo, LLC.
Elements Dance Space’s facility is 10,000 square feet with 5 rooms, all with wood sprung floors, and offers ample complimentary parking. The program includes the EDS Annual Dance Recital (The Revue), the Maker Empire annual dance showcase (The Making), and the GROWN-UP GET DOWN Parent Routine for parents, guardians, aunts, uncles, grandmas, and grandpas ages 18 and older. Elements Dance Space serves dancers and artists in the Greater Los Angeles and Southern California area.
Elements Dance Space was voted Best of Pasadena seven years in a row. It has received multiple Best of Pasadena recognitions, including Best Dance Studio, Best Place to Dance, Best Place to Workout, Best Pilates, and Best Enrichment across the years 2019 through 2025. Elements Dance Space’s Elite Competition Dance Team received the TOP STUDIO award at the 2019 Countdown National Competition, the TOP HIP HOP award, and an Industry Dance Awards nomination for the People’s Choice Award.
Elements Dance Space acknowledges many families in the Pasadena/Altadena and EDS community affected by devastating fires and encourages donations directly to EDS families who have lost their homes in the Eaton Fire. Elements Dance Space thanks Pasadena Weekly and the City of Pasadena for recognition in Best of Pasadena and notes that Pasadena is home to the Mars Rover and the annual Rose Bowl Game and has a strong base of retail, entertainment, tourism, cultural institutions, and restaurants.
