Hastings Ranch Nursery School

Hastings Ranch Nursery School is a play-based parent cooperative preschool. Its programs use classrooms, outdoor play areas, and play-based learning. The school offers morning educational play-based programming from 8:30 am to 11:30 am, extended care from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm, and some afternoon programming from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

Programs

• Lower School (Purple Door) — ages 2 - 3; minimum age 2 years old by September 1st of school year · Morning only, 8:30 am - 11:30 am; 2-day Tuesday & Thursday; 3-day Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; 5-day Monday - Friday · Dedicated classroom and play yard for youngest students; children do not need to be potty-trained.
• Upper School (Red Door and Yellow Door) — 3 - 4 year old children; minimum age 3 years old by September 1st of school year · Morning programs, 8:30 am - 11:30 am; 2-day Tuesday & Thursday; 3-day Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; 5-day Monday - Friday; afternoon programs, 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm; 3-day Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday · Mixed-age classrooms with a large shared outdoor play area; children must be potty-trained.
• Stepping Stones / Transitional Kindergarten (Blue Door) — 4 - 5 years old · Morning program, 8:30 am - 11:30 am; 5-day Monday - Friday; afternoon program, 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm; 3-day Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday · Classroom for 4 and 5 year olds designed to prepare children academically and socially for Kindergarten; children must be potty-trained.

Family involvement is part of the cooperative model. Families volunteer in the classroom and can serve as committee or board members. The school’s mission is to help children develop a love of learning through play, foster a commitment to explore and value differences, build a foundation for independence, cultivate social and emotional development, and enable academic growth through its cooperative family of families.

• Extended Care — 11:30 am - 3:30 pm · Flexible after-class programming for families that require additional childcare or want more play-based activities.

Play-based parent cooperative (co-op) preschool based in Pasadena, CA.
