Silver Echo Guitar Lessons offers instrument lessons and band coaching with instructor Sean Smith. The program includes guitar, bass, drums, keys, ukulele, beginning piano/synth, and harmonica lessons, and lessons can take place in person or via Zoom.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Price: $95/60mins, $80/45mins, $60/30mins; sliding scale rates available for those who need them
Sean Smith has been playing in bands, writing original music, touring, and working in music and performance production for the past 33 years. He began teaching privately in 2005, started teaching at ViBo Music Center in 2010, and held around 30 individual and group lessons per week there for all ages. He joined the band Citay as lead guitarist to tour and record from 2008–2011 and was included in Rhys Chatham's 100 electric guitars orchestra in 2013. After relocating to Los Angeles in 2014, he worked as Program Director at School of Rock for 2 years and also taught lessons, ran rehearsals, and directed performance programs, including serving as House Band director at the San Francisco Rock Project. As of May 2024, he has settled into a new studio and offers customized and patient music lessons and band coaching for all ages, using a dynamic teaching approach that reflects the interests and learning styles of students and drawing on his extensive teaching experience, wide-ranging musical knowledge, and history as an artist and working musician.
