Sparkologie

Sparkologie offers art, design, STEM, and AI activities for kids, including a STEAM focused Tinkerlab class. Programs are rooted in art and design methods modeled after Stanford’s d.school (Stanford Design School) and use a radically student centered approach. The program includes classes, camps, homeschool options, and after-school enrichment that teach kids core skills and design thinking.

Sparkologie started as a pop up at a small preschool and elementary school in the Contra Costa area in California. The founder, Courtney Escanio, has 25+ years of experience in design and has worked at Apple, Madison Reed, Frog Design Agency, and more. The mission of SPARKOLOGIE is to spark creativity with art, design, and STEM programs integrated with AI, serving families throughout Northern California.

Sparkologie offers homeschool and after school enrichment programs in art, design, STEM, and AI at neighborhood elementary schools, parks and recreation centers, and partnered studios, along with community-focused classes and community galleries at civic locations. The studio also hosts events, art parties, and kids night out, and grants and scholarships are available for most offerings.

Parent feedback includes comments that Courtney has naturally positive, enthusiastic energy and that children enjoy classes such as pointillism projects, holiday parties, and the STEAM focused Tinkerlab class with Ms. Susan. Parents also report that their children come home happy and inspired from daycamp, and describe Courtney and her staff as excellent and professional.
