Village Music School offers private music lessons and classes that include piano, guitar, ukulele, and violin lessons. The program also offers instrument rentals for band and a musical theatre workshop, along with an “Everyone-has-a-blast” class that introduces students to theatre. Instructor-approved, quality instruments are available for students, and the program includes the Village Princess program by name.
Village Music School was established in 2000 and is a locally owned and operated company with over 25 instructors teaching 500 students every week. Village families come from Walnut Creek, Martinez, Concord, and Lafayette, with many traveling from Orinda and Brentwood. The program’s mission statement says that when music is presented in a fun, supportive environment using materials that inspire practice and commitment, students develop a love and understanding for music that will last a lifetime. Village has donated over $60,000.00 to local school fundraisers and has helped schools raise funds for computer labs, musical instruments, art supplies, music lessons, and more at many local schools, including Ayers, Bancroft, Christ the King, CCJDS, College Park, Concord High, Eagle Peak, Fair Oaks, Foothill Middle, Gregory Gardens, Hidden Valley, Indian Valley, Monte Gardens, Mount Diablo, Murwood, Northgate, Oak Grove, Parkmead, Pine Hollow, Pleasant Hill Elementary, Pleasant Hill Middle, Rheem, Saint Perpetua, Saint Catherines, Sequoia, Seven Hills, Strandwood, Valhalla, Valley View, Vista Grande, Walnut Acres, Wagner Ranch, and Woodside. One parent from a Village family in Walnut Creek shared that their child found a piano lesson very fun and helpful and asked to continue piano classes.
