About
Pacific Rim Volleyball Summer Camps offers beginners and intermediate volleyball camps that cover serving, serve-receive, setting, hitting, defense, and team formations. Each camp is 4 days long so that a different fundamental volleyball skill can be emphasized each day. Breakers is the summer skills camp for younger players who are just starting to learn the game, and Shortboards is the summer skills camp for middle school aged players with some volleyball experience.
• Ages: 8–14 years old
• Schedule: 4-day camps, Monday–Thursday, with beginners camps in the morning from 9am–11am and intermediate camps in the afternoon from 1pm–3pm or evening from 5pm–7pm
• Price: Each 4-Day Camp is $200.
The Breakers Morning Beginners Camp runs from 9am–11am and is designed for younger players aged 12 and under, or rising 3rd through 6th graders, who are beginners working to improve basic skills, with two coed courts sorted by level. The Shortboards Intermediate Camps run from 1pm–3pm and from 5pm–7pm and are designed for intermediate players aged 14 and under, or rising 7th and 8th graders, who have some volleyball experience and might be ready for team competition, with girls on one court and boys on another court. Each 4-Day Beginners Camp and each 4-Day Intermediate Camp is offered Monday through Thursday in multiple weeks in July, including July 7–10, July 14–17, July 21–24, and July 28–31. Pacific Rim Volleyball Summer Camps are led by Coach Joe Peacock as part of the Pacific Rim Volleyball Academy. The program’s stated mission is to provide a comprehensive athletic experience in a positive and fun environment, stressing preparation, fundamentals, teamwork, and good sportsmanship, with primary emphasis on education, training (Academy), and competition (Club). The program lists credentials that include PRVA 18 as WCVBA League Champion, WCVBA Boys League Championship 17s/18s Division Gold Bracket Winner, Chicago ChiTown Boys Challenge 18 Open Division Gold Bracket (9th Overall), and L.A. Socal Cup Winter Formal 18 Open Division Gold Bracket (5th Overall).
