About
Pleasant Hill Baseball Association offers baseball and softball, along with events such as PHBA Picture Day and the PHBA Poker Tournament. The program also includes Blue Crew Field Day Training and a Blue Crew Classroom Clinic as part of its activities.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
Since its founding in 1958, Pleasant Hill Baseball Association has provided children ages 4 to 18 years old living in Contra Costa County the opportunity to learn and play baseball and softball in a safe environment, with a focus on good sportsmanship, leadership, character, honesty, loyalty, courage, and mutual respect. PHBA welcomes over 1,400 players each year and has celebrated many community successes due to the dedication of its players, parents, and volunteers. Safety of the children comes first, supported by league safety guidelines covering child abuse, concussion, and sudden cardiac arrest. All players and coaches are photographed on PHBA Picture Day, and families are instructed to arrive at their team’s scheduled photo time with players in full uniform but without cleats. One parent described that their daughter has found a love for softball through PHBA, has made many friends, learned about teamwork, has been in the league since age 5, and at age 11 is looking forward to her first season in the National division, calling PHBA an important part of their family, fun, learning experiences, and community.
