CCOP CYO Basketball offers basketball activities that include team practices, CYO season games, and pre-season Jamboree games. The program also includes open gyms for registered players, a free basketball clinic for girls teams in all grades, CCOP team evaluations, and referee training.
• Ages: 8–13 years old
• Schedule: Registration opens in May, with open gyms in August, team evaluations in late August, team practices starting in late September, pre-season Jamboree games in October, CYO season games tentatively starting in early November and running through a regular season that tentatively ends in early February, followed by Tri-Valley and Diocese playoffs in February and early March
The leadership team includes John Baer as Athletic Director, Jocelyn Martin for Communications and Social Media, Gael Knight as Treasurer, Vana Hoang as Referee Coordinator, Adi Rodrigues for Marketing and Registration, Priya for Community Outreach, and Brad Gersich and Greg Thome as Advisors. The program states a mission of encouraging respectful behavior, fair play, and good sportsmanship on and off the court, using basketball as a platform to instill discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and leadership, while emphasizing enjoyment of the game in a positive and engaging environment. Kids of all skill levels are welcome, everyone plays, everyone improves, and the program is always looking for volunteers to help make the program a success. The program also connects to the Catholic Community of Pleasanton through its community involvement.
