Most summer camps are offered in an online format, with a few summer camps offered in-person, and the program provides online 1:1 private coding classes and 1:1 private and 4:1 group formats. Families can access a free trial class, including a free 1:1 trial class, and students have 24/7 access to 3D modeling lessons on the YoungWonks Student Portal and 24/7 access to the YoungWonks learning management system (LMS). Classes follow a blended learning, project-based approach with no class lectures, a self-paced, year-round structure, assisted practice with teacher-assisted practice, and a Python-oriented approach, and class discounts are available for existing YoungWonks students taking coding classes. YoungWonks Parent Apps allow parents to see the projects their child is working on, get instructor feedback, check class schedules, and schedule make-up classes, and coding class gift certificates are available.

Professional teachers and coders with a bachelor’s degree or higher teach the classes, and YoungWonks does not hire college students to be teachers. YoungWonks has a 10+ year track record of turning kids into professional programmers and is WASC accredited by the same organization that accredits elementary, middle, junior-high, high, and adult schools in the western United States. YoungWonks is a 2025 CODiE Winner for Best Coding & Development Solution, Best Coding and Computational Thinking Solution, and Best Coding & Development Solution, and the YoungWonks team ranks among the top 4 nationwide in the 2025 NASA App Development Challenge and is the only team in the country to win the ADC Innovation Award. YoungWonks students won at RoboRAVE California with 1st place four years in a row in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, and at RoboRAVE International with 1st place in 2018.
