Floaties Swim School is a family-owned and operated, fully equipped swim facility that provides swim lessons in a clean, safe and comfortable indoor environment, and the facility is described as a home away from home and a top-of-the-line space used for swim lessons, Kid’s Night Out, and birthday parties. Swim lessons are offered for infants, children and adults, and are taught in small groups with qualified and professional instructors who provide feedback, encouragement, and extra personal assistance when needed. Floaties Swim School opened in the San Diego community in 2008 with the goal of offering individuals of all ages and abilities the opportunity to learn, improve and excel in the sport of swimming, and the first brick and mortar Floaties Swim School opened in Poway on May 12th, 2008. The school is an embodiment of founder Mike Morrill’s lifelong mission to enrich the lives of the children in local communities through water safety awareness and a love of swimming, and his passion and commitment to water safety and preventing childhood drownings is stated as being at the forefront of the Floaties mission. Floaties Swim School is committed to offering a wide range of swim classes from the very beginner level all the way up to competitive strokes, and states that its number one goal is to establish rapport and trust while challenging students to learn new skills. Founder Mike Morrill, often referred to as Mr. Mike, is a former water polo athlete and San Diego beach lifeguard who has taught swim lessons since high school and previously worked as a swim instructor at a local swim school in Pacific Beach. The program states, “At Floaties, we treat your children like they are part of our family. It’s so important that all children are taught water safety at an early age in a fun environment with knowledgeable and professional instructors.”
