BCS encourages all athletes to carry and maintain a high academic standard, and proof of satisfactory progress in school is required, with a 2.0/70% or equivalent as the minimum grade point average acceptable to participate. If a participant cannot meet the academic requirement, he or she may obtain a scholastic waiver that allows provision of a progress report from the teacher or school of improvement, and no team may participate in regional or national sponsored championships or bowl games if its players have not met the nationally published scholastic requirements. Pop Warner requires academic fitness to play and rewards Little Scholars with scholarships for college. Registration for the 2026 season is closed.
