About
PlayThrive School offers project-based learning, social emotional learning, and explorative play in a Mandarin immersion environment. Students take part in activities such as creating comic books, writing stories, and drawing characters and scenes. The program also includes celebrations like Halloween and a haunted house event.
PlayThrive School is a non-profit educational bilingual environment that recognizes children as citizens who value community, culture, and self-identity, and it aims to create a space for children to explore, have fun, develop empathy, connect with one another, and cultivate a passion for lifelong learning. The school uses a project-based, student-centered curriculum with a whole-child approach that includes project-based learning, social emotional learning, and explorative play. PlayThrive School has been building a strong and supportive community since 2015 and has hosted over three dozen cultural and whole-child events. The program has high quality programs and small class sizes, with a low teacher:student ratio of 1:12, and 1:9 for the TK/Kindergarten class, and it is led by experienced teachers. PlayThrive School offers a Mandarin school focused on the whole child, with bilingual and global perspectives, and a Mandarin immersion environment for students who choose to be on campus or at home. The school is a member of the Association of Northern California Chinese Schools (www.anccs.org) and fosters a community of parents and educators that supports bilingual whole child education. Families describe PlayThrive School as a place where children experience project-based Mandarin learning, form close friendships, build strong attachments to teachers, and engage in art projects and a nurturing and inspiring environment.
