About
Peninsula Youth Sailing Foundation offers year-round and summer sailing programs that include summer sailing, Guppies sailing class, Learn to Sail (1.0, 2.0, and 3.0), Adventure Sailing, Opti Development Team, High School and Middle School Sailing, Feva Development, c420 Development, High Performance, Learn to Wing, travel teams, clinics for experienced members, and regatta competition. Program activities include on-the-water STEM lessons, environmental lessons, stand-up paddleboarding, boat handling, sail trim, points of sail, basic knot tying, water safety, racing strategy, tactics, advanced boat handling, fitness, and Junior Instructor internships. Boats are provided for Guppies, Learn to Sail, Learn to Sail 2.0, Learn to Sail 3.0, Adventure Sailing, and Opti Development when available, with priority given to new sailors, and all sailors must wear a US Coast Guard-approved life jacket and helmet while safety boats are present for all sessions.

• Schedule: Guppies, Learn to Sail 2.0, Learn to Sail 3.0, Adventure Sailing, and Opti Development Team run as 4-day camps or practice blocks Monday–Thursday, generally between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and Learn to Sail runs as 8-day sessions.
• Price: Guppies $700; Adventure Sailing $700; Learn to Sail $1400; Learn to Sail 2.0 $700; Learn to Sail 3.0 $700; Opti Development Team $700; $50 service charge for cancellations more than 2 weeks before class, with no refunds within 2 weeks of the class start.
Peninsula Youth Sailing Foundation states that its mission is to provide a comprehensive sailing program for all youth in the Bay Area, from learn-to-sail to travel teams, with classes that stress safety and cultivate the values of character, community, and competitiveness, and that the program instills lifelong enjoyment and stewardship of waterways, oceans, and the world environment.
