What started as a small community school over a century ago has grown into one of the nation’s premier independent high schools. Branson Summer Session welcomes middle school students and high schoolers from all over the Bay Area, and all are welcome. Financial aid is available. The program opens its doors to the wider community so that everyone can experience the Branson campus, its faculty, and a curriculum built on collaboration and curiosity. The mission of the school is to develop students who make a positive impact in the world by leading lives of integrity, purpose, learning, and joy. Branson Summer Session is led by Mackenzie Huntington, Director of Summer Programs.

“In the ‘Effective Reading and Writing Skills for 9th Graders’ class I got better at writing and was able to improve in my analysis of short stories. I would recommend that other 8th graders take advantage of this summer opportunity – the classes are small and more personalized and you get plenty of 1:1 attention.” – Sadie Saavedra, Branson Summer Session 2022 & Branson Class of 2026

“While I love teaching during the school year at Branson, there’s something special about a full summer immersion. I support and encourage every student, creating a space where they can work hard during class and still have plenty of time to enjoy a relaxing summer.” – Gretchen Koles, Branson & Summer Math Teacher

“The transition between 8th and 9th grades and can a big jump, and high school can seem scary when you don’t know what to expect. Taking this course gave me a sense of Branson and connected me to the school. So, even though it’s your summer and you want to take a break, try Branson's Summer Session. It will be a lot of fun!” – Skylar Lariviere, Branson Summer Session 2022 & Branson Class of 2026

“Taking a summer class gave me a good opportunity to get a taste of the Branson experience before I came to the school. Being in a classroom and learning gave me a feel for how the community would be, and what the student environment was like. I got to eat the lunches and explore the campus, and ultimately I think it contributed to my choice of Branson as the right school for me.” – Calvin Tenney, Branson Summer Session 2023 & Branson Class of 2028

“One of the great joys about teaching Summer Session is how utterly chill it is. Yes, we get work done, but we're also outside a lot, doing activities, playing games, or just chillin' in the sun with Mt. Tam in the background. Another thing that I love about teaching these summer classes is that, because the class is intensive, we really get to really know each other and form bonds that last beyond the class itself.” – Giles Scott, Branson English Teacher

“Rising seniors, do your future self a favor and enroll in the ‘Writing the College Essay’ class this summer! The quality and quantity of time and eyes dedicated to polishing my personal statement gave me confidence in the final outcome. I encourage you to use this camp and your summer time to enter senior-year fall happy with your 650-word masterpiece.” – Cecilia “CC” Brenner, Summer Session 2025 & Branson Class of 2026
