Arden Park Youth Soccer is a soccer program where kids play organized soccer games. The program is open to both boys and girls and includes competition with other teams in the River City Youth Soccer League.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Practice begins in August, with the season starting in September; games are on Friday evenings for 5 year olds and Saturday mornings for ages 6–18
Arden Park Youth Soccer is part of the Arden Park Recreation and Park District, which was the first independent park and recreation district formed in Sacramento County. The district’s mission is to provide safe, clean, beautiful parks and facilities, along with professionally managed leisure time activities for all residents, and it states that its Board and staff value public service, people, teamwork, innovation, quality, integrity, excellence, and the environment. Arden Park Youth Soccer teams compete in the River City Youth Soccer League, and community groups such as the Arden Improvement Club, the Arden Park Garden Club, the Arden Lions Club, and individual residents have donated time, effort, and money to support development of the district’s parks. The district’s history includes its initial formation steps beginning in 1949, several name changes, acceptance of park land in 1953, a bond-approved swimming pool project in 1955, appointment of a full-time Superintendent of Parks and Recreation in 1961, and Board approval of a Master Plan in 2022.
