First Tee - Greater Sacramento

First Tee — Greater Sacramento offers junior golf programs that include summer camps, after school programs, Saturday programs, and a competitive junior golf tour. The program also offers the California Eagles (Special Olympics), adaptive physical education classes, the Swing Club for the Blind, and the First Tee School Program. First Tee program locations are golf courses that teach the First Tee life skills curriculum.

• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Price: All participants at program locations receive a free Youth on Course membership, which provides juniors with Green Fees of $5 or less at hundreds of regional courses.

First Tee — Greater Sacramento’s mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. First Tee — Greater Sacramento has positively impacted young people in the area since 1983 and is one of First Tee’s largest chapters. All participants at program locations become members of First Tee — Greater Sacramento, and the chapter has 11 program locations in the greater Sacramento area. First Tee — Greater Sacramento is described as a leader in the field of programs for young people and the disabled and has created a farm system that supports children as young as 3 until they reach college. Through golf-based personal growth programs, kids build life and leadership skills that apply to school, friendships, and eventually careers, and experiences are described as being as fun as they are meaningful, where kids feel excited to grow, safe to fail, and better equipped for what comes next. Corporations and foundations provide financial and brand-building assistance to help further the mission of First Tee and enhance community impact.
