OnStage Theatre Arts offers online classes for kids and adults, improv classes, summer camps, birthday parties, and classes in schools, including an after school theatre program. Participants learn lines, perform scripts, make props, sets, and costumes, and can become stage hands and stage managers through programs such as the OffStage program begun in 2013. The program also offers virtual classes, Beginners Imagination classes, Intermediate Imagination classes, Writing to Perform classes, a Shakespearean monologue class, and a theater game social hour for senior citizens.

Cynthia Speakman began OnStage Theatre Arts as an after school program at Leonardo da Vinci School (LdV) in 2000 and later expanded it beyond school-year programs to children’s summer camps, holiday camps, and improv classes. OnStage Theatre Arts teaches the entire theatrical process and uses scripts inspired by folktales and fairytales written by Cynthia instead of purchasing plays and musicals. The mission of OnStage Theatre Arts is to teach the entire theatrical process to nurture the imagination in the community and create a welcoming environment of growth and human connection. OnStage Theatre Arts is a children’s theatre program operating as a project of the nonprofit corporation Process Theatre, Inc. and is a 501c3 nonprofit. Onstage began as an after school program and continues to reach out to schools in need of the arts, and has recently begun work in homeschool programs to reach a new community of young people. Each class is tailored to promote confidence, creativity and imagination within a safe learning environment. One testimonial notes that imaginative play provides an opportunity for kids to practice and develop their language and social skills, and to boost the development of problem-solving and self-regulation skills.
