• Ages: 5–18 years old
Over the past thirty years, Director John Bisceglie and his team have worked with thousands of children in the San Francisco Bay Area, producing more than two hundred original musicals, movies, singing showcases, and special events featuring kids of all ages. Sacramento Children’s Musical Theater is dedicated to offering high quality performing arts experiences to Sacramento youth ages 5–18, and its youth theater productions provide performing arts training that boosts children’s self-esteem, confidence, and teaches the value of teamwork. The inclusive program accepts all youth who audition, offers a variety of performing arts opportunities for first timers to experienced performers, fosters diversity and inclusion, and does not require prior experience. Weekday and weekend rehearsals are held at Fulton-El Camino Recreation & Park District’s Richard T. Conzelmann Community Center located in Howe Park, and the leadership team includes Production Manager Aaron and Director John. Having recently relocated to be a resident of Sacramento, John is introducing this program to the Sacramento valley and bringing children’s theater to a new community of families.
Parent feedback includes comments that the program built confidence in young participants and brought smiles to many people, that it is an “awesome experience” for kids interested in singing and dancing, and that the shows are well put together with “adorable kids.”
