The program’s mission is to nurture, educate and empower by providing quality comprehensive child development services that are family focused, including education, health, nutrition and mental health. It aims to strengthen families through engagement and relationship building by offering leadership opportunities, children and family advocacy, and community-focused events, and by partnering with organizations that provide families access to services in their community. The program does not provide transportation, but it can assist families in receiving a bus pass or other transportation assistance. Family-centered services are offered to infants, toddlers, preschoolers and pregnant people, and the programs are funded by Head Start and the State of California, with eligibility open to Sacramento County residents who meet income guidelines.
