Merry Garden Preschool

Merry Garden Preschool is a Waldorf-inspired, in-home preschool program where creative play is described as the child's work. The program uses a play garden that supports increased manual dexterity, physical coordination, tactile sensitivity, and depth perception, and avoids commercial toys that have a predefined meaning or purpose. The outdoor environment is treated as being as credible a classroom as the indoor one.

• Ages: 3–5 years old
• Schedule: Class is in session Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with flexible days of attendance

Merry Garden Preschool has been established and in operation since 1997. The program is owned and operated by Linda Lawrence and is licensed for 12 children. Its stated mission is to provide a nurturing and harmonious environment to meet the natural developmental needs of young children, with a warm environment intended to develop body and mind and to inspire a lasting appreciation for the natural world through engagement with nature, the seasons, and the elements in an environment described as beautiful and ordered.
