Upward Basketball at Fremont Presbyterian Church

Upward Basketball at Fremont Presbyterian Church includes basketball and volleyball, along with devotions and team huddles. The program includes equal play time and balanced competition so every child participates, and it offers both a recreation volleyball league for players with little to no experience and a competitive volleyball league that teaches more complex aspects of the game such as different rotations and plays.

• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Evaluations on Sunday, February 22 or Wednesday, February 25 from 6:30–8:30; weekly 1-hour practices on Sundays between 1:00–5:00 pm or Thursdays between 6:00–8:00 pm starting the week of Sunday, March 15; Friday night games beginning March 20 with an end-of-season tournament and celebration on May 15

For nearly two decades, Fremont Presbyterian Church has partnered with Upward Sports to offer a Christ-centered basketball program and a Christ-centered volleyball league. Devotions and team huddles teach biblical lessons and good sportsmanship. Upward Sports is a nationwide ministry that equips churches to use the power of sports to share the gospel and build community. The program is part of a broader church ministry led by a team that includes pastors, ministers, and program staff such as the Pastor, Executive Minister, Assistant Pastor for Congregational Life, Minister to Children and Families, Minister to Students and Families, and other ministry and support roles.
