Cahill's Judo Academy was founded in 1948 by Professor John Cahill, and the dojo is now led by his son Willy. The academy has been a recognized name in martial arts for over 70 years and has produced several Olympians and nearly 1,000 national and international champions. Willy Cahill has been an Olympic, Paralympic, and Pan Am Games judo coach, has coached other regional and national judo teams and judokas, and holds a 9th degree black belt in Kodokan Judo and a 10th degree in Kodenkan Jujitsu. Tournaments for both junior and senior athletes are held throughout the Bay Area, as well as national and international competitions. The academy offers a free trial class, and CNN has done a story on Coach Willy Cahill.
