About
Caio Terra Academy San Carlos Youth BJJ offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) classes for children and teens in dedicated Toddlers | Kids I, KIDS II, and Teens groups. The program also connects to a Family Class where youth can train alongside family members. All youth classes follow a curriculum developed and tested by 12-time world champion Professor Caio Terra.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Youth classes are offered Monday–Friday in the late afternoon and early evening, with a Family Class option on Saturday mornings.
• Price: Kids billed monthly: prices start at $250; month to month $300; 1 year commitment $250; access to all classes; family discounts; 2 holds per year. Additional billed monthly plan: prices start at $250; month to month $300; 1 year commitment $250; access to all classes and CTA Open Mat; 2 holds per year. Billed annually or semi annually: prepaid $2550; save 15% on a year and 10% on 6 months; access to all classes and all open mats; 2 holds per year.
Youth classes meet Monday and Wednesday for Toddlers | Kids I from 4:00 PM to 4:45 PM and KIDS II from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. KIDS II also meets Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and Teens meet Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Family Class runs on Saturday from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
The youth program is led by Beatriz “Bia” Gutierrez, the Youth Program Director and Kids Program Director in San Carlos, who has taught children for over a decade and previously directed the kids’ program in Palo Alto. The academy’s overall leadership includes Professor Caio Terra as founder and 12-time world champion, and Mateus Moraes as Adult Program Director and main instructor in San Carlos. The curriculum is based on Professor Caio Terra’s one team philosophy, which states that everyone is always welcome, from total beginners to current champions.
Professor Caio Terra is one of the most decorated competitors in the history of Jiu-Jitsu, with a record ten IBJJF No Gi world championships and three American national Absolute titles. Beatriz “Bia” Gutierrez has won many IBJJF opens and an American National title.
