About
Aviation Camp is offered as part of the Hiller Aviation Museum’s day camps and focuses on aviation-themed experiences. Campers take part in programs connected to the museum’s collection of more than 50 aircraft spanning over a century of aviation history. Core youth programs at the museum include interactive, hands-on activities developed in partnership with NASA.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
The Hiller Aviation Museum opened to the public in 1998. Its mission is to celebrate the spirit of discovery and innovation of aviation pioneers whose creativity made the dream of flight a reality. The museum is a Smithsonian Affiliate. Core museum programs for youth are based on state and national academic standards and support K–12 school curricula in history and STEM fields, including programs developed with NASA. All campers must be entering grades K through 7th on the camp start date for any session of Aviation Camp, and incoming kindergarteners are accepted for summer camp sessions only. Specific age restrictions apply to individual sessions, and not all ages can be accommodated in all sessions. Hiller Aviation Museum members with a valid Family-level or higher membership are eligible to enroll at member prices. There is a wait list for full camp sessions, and if space becomes available, families are contacted by email and given an opportunity to enroll.
