Happy Campers Preschool

Happy Campers Preschool offers hands-on academics and structured learning along with music, movement, art, and dramatic play. Children take part in learning basic Spanish vocabulary, indoor games, and dramatic play in a dedicated gross motor skills room that also includes obstacle courses, team games, and other gross motor equipment for active play. The program also includes outdoor play on climbing structures, age-separated play areas, splash pad play, bounce house play on special occasions, and indoor obstacle courses that build balance, strength, and coordination.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, with full-day hours available between 7:30am and 5:30pm

Happy Campers Preschool is a family-owned preschool and childcare center that has operated as a high-quality, award-winning preschool and daycare since 1996. The program uses the Experience Curriculum, which blends hands-on academics with structured learning, and teachers infuse explorations and studies with empathy, emotional regulation, and collaboration. The mission of the program is stated as “Empowering Young Learners With Skills, Confidence & Curiosity” and “A Play-Based, Whole-Child Approach Sparks A Love Of Discovery.” Leadership includes Audra, an early education expert who founded Happy Campers with her parents in 1996, and the staff includes CPR-certified teachers.

The program offers creative enrichments and Spanish with fluent-speaking teachers, as well as optional after-school dance and soccer clubs through partnerships with Small Fry Dance Club and Soccer Shots. Extra dance is available for children 2 years and older, and extra soccer is available for children 3 years and older, along with an after-school dance club and an after-school soccer club. Happy Campers Preschool has brand-new, open-concept facilities with personalized classrooms filled with natural light and self-portraits on the walls, spacious indoor gross motor rooms or gyms, and age-separated playgrounds with climbing structures, safe poured rubber, a splash pad, and a bounce house that arrives on special occasions. The program notes professionally cleaned spaces, daily professional cleaners to keep every space and surface immaculate, access controls, and secure fences.

Happy Campers Preschool is a member of NAEYC and has been voted “The Best of the Peninsula” in the Peninsula News’ Readers’ Choice Awards 2025. The program serves families from San Carlos, Belmont, and the surrounding communities and notes an Open House on Saturday March 14th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
