ArtReach Youth Art Programs gives kids time to paint, sculpt, print, collage, and experiment with new techniques through hands-on art projects. The program also includes collaborative youth-driven murals and other hands-on art experiences.
• Ages: 5–11 years old
• Schedule: From June 1 through July 31, with six-week After-School Art Classes
ArtReach ignites youth creativity through visual arts expression and community connection. Six-week After-School Art Classes are led by practicing artists. Campers in grades K–5 take part in hands-on art projects inspired by contemporary artists, playful themes, and creative discovery, and each week has a unique focus. Programs are inspired by relevant, contemporary visual arts practices with a focus on creating spaces for expression by fostering community and connection in the classroom. Mural Programs involve collaborative youth-driven murals at schools and community sites, and Studio Program workshops are free and low-cost hands-on art experiences for kids, teens, and families. SPARK partners local artists with teachers to create custom projects that align with various subjects, and Virtual Programs provide skill-building worksheets, student resources, educator guides, and supply lists. Professional Development workshops offer hands-on projects and collaboration for educators. Virtual Programs include supply lists. ArtReach Youth Art Programs was voted Best Art Classes for Kids in San Diego Magazine’s Best of 2025.
