Kickforce Martial Arts states that its summer camp is fun, educational, and social, and that it provides fun and learning for kids of all ages. The program description states that kids learn from experienced instructors in a dojo setting and share common experiences while training with people who have different backgrounds and experience levels. The camp materials state that kids are taught respect, discipline, self-control, self-discipline, continuous effort, and improvement, as well as core values they can use in the classroom and beyond.

Kickforce Martial Arts opened as an independent program in Kearny Mesa inside Flip Force in 2011, moved to Mira Mesa in 2013, and moved again to its current home in Mira Mesa in 2015. In early 2018, a second KickForce studio opened in Clairemont Mesa, and the program describes itself as celebrating seven years of providing “The Ultimate Martial Arts Experience” to the San Diego community. Since day one, the stated mission has been “to inspire others to be great in life through martial arts.”

The organization is part of the largest martial arts organization in the world, founded in 1969, which offers curriculum programs for all ages and a variety of purposes including basic martial arts, self-defense and combative arts, life skill building, and bullying prevention. Kickforce Martial Arts also partners with Hyper Martial Arts to combine traditional martial arts with high-performance action training. The program materials state that the team wanted to partner with families in raising strong, happy, and responsible children and that they envision several more “KickForce Communities” where students can practice martial arts and acquire life skills for everyday situations or challenges.

Program information notes that all camps are from 9:00am to 2:00pm and that healthy snacks are provided, and it includes a disclaimer that ages 3 and up must be potty-trained to participate in class. Testimonials from parents and students describe kids learning self-control, structure, confidence, self-defense, public speaking, good communication skills, and self-confidence, and mention that instructors are described as great, awesome, energetic, skilled, positive, kind, attentive, and family- and kid-friendly. Testimonials also mention that classes are family-oriented, organized across a range of age levels, and that staff communication is described as very helpful with many great people involved.
