About
Kickforce Martial Arts Summer Camp offers a martial arts summer camp where kids take part in martial arts activities in a real martial arts school. The program is part of a broader schedule at Kickforce Martial Arts that also includes spring-summer camps, birthday parties, Fitness Kickboxing, and Cardio Kickboxing. The summer camp is described as fun, educational, and social, with a martial arts theme.
• Ages: 3–16 years old
• Schedule: All camps run from 9:00am to 2:00pm
• Price: Pricing is reasonable especially for a whole family.
The camp provides healthy snacks during camp hours, and there are only 25 spots available for each camp. Kids at the summer camp learn respect, discipline, and self-control, and they are in an environment where they can make new friends and learn the value of respecting people with different backgrounds and experience levels. The program offers several curriculum options for all ages and purposes, including basic martial arts, self-defense and combative arts, life skill building, and bullying prevention, and it partners with Hyper Martial Arts to offer both traditional arts and high-performance action training. Family-oriented classes are organized across a range of different age levels, and ages 3 and up must be potty-trained in order to participate in class.
Experienced instructors teach kids what they need to know to excel in the martial art school and in the classroom, and the people at KickForce are described as highly skilled, passionate, and excellent instructors. One parent reports that their whole family has been going to KickForce for almost a year, that the kids learn self control, structure, and confidence in addition to self defense, and that the parents get a workout while learning martial arts, with lots of opportunities for a free class. Another parent notes that the family-oriented classes are well organized across different age levels and that they have met many great people since joining. Additional parent feedback describes instructors as awesome, energetic, very skilled, positive, kind, and attentive, with an emphasis on public speaking, good communication skills, self confidence, respect, and kindness, and on making everyone feel like a big family.
Since opening in 2011 as an independent program in Kearny Mesa inside of Flip Force, KickForce Martial Arts moved to Mira Mesa in 2013, then to its current home in Mira Mesa in 2015, and opened a second studio in Clairemont Mesa in early 2018. The program notes that it is celebrating seven years of providing what it calls “The Ultimate Martial Arts Experience” to the San Diego community. From day one, its mission statement has been “to inspire others to be great in life through martial arts.” KickForce Martial Arts is part of the largest martial arts organization in the world, founded in 1969, and also partners with Hyper Martial Arts.
