The Skating School Program includes public skating, learn to skate, figure skating lessons, ice hockey lessons, hockey leagues, and group performance classes. Participants can take Pre-Alpha – Delta skating classes, Freestyle 1–10 classes, stroking classes, harness jump classes, a Moves In The Field class, a Jump Start class, and an adult dance class. The program also offers parties and ice skating birthday parties.

The Skating School Program is part of one of the largest recreational skating schools in the country and is described as a welcoming, fun, and exciting way to teach toddlers, youth, teens, and adults the artistry of ice skating. Skaters receive individualized attention from a world class coaching staff. The program is led by Skating Director Justin Ross, with Philip Linssen serving as CEO of SDIA Inc. and Mark Linssen as COO of SDIA Inc. The stated mission is “To WOW our customers with a remarkable experience when visiting San Diego Ice Arena.” It is home of the award winning “Ice Skating Birthday Parties.”
Since 2000, the Linssen brothers have created a vibrant community around SDIA, and each year since 1997, SDIA Inc. has teamed with Sentre Partners to run a temporary rink in downtown San Diego called “Fantasy on Ice.” Programs like the Special Skaters and community fundraisers are part of its social responsibility efforts, and all proceeds from “Fantasy on Ice” go to Rady Children’s Hospital. The facility is described as a Fun ’n’ Learn Facility, has a new ice skating surface, uses a water reclamation system and solar panels, and includes the SDIA Pro Shop, which has the best selection of ice hockey and figure skating equipment in San Diego County.
