San Diego and Seaside Volleyball Club offers volleyball skill-based training that includes serving, passing, hitting, blocking, setting, and digging. The program also includes Open Gym Volleyball and participation in local tournaments.

San Diego Volleyball Club was established in 1986 as the first girls’ volleyball club in San Diego and is the longest running volleyball club in San Diego. Seaside was the first boys’ volleyball club in San Diego, founded in 1989, and in 2009 Seaside VBC became the boys’ program of San Diego Volleyball Club. Under the guidance of Directors Dave Whittaker, Ashley Payne, and Russ and Kim Bird, the coaching staff uses instructional techniques in individual and team play. Under the guidance of Director Russ Bird, Seaside continues to build upon its foundation. The club states its mission as “Learning Life Through Volleyball,” including building confident young people, helping athletes excel at and develop a life-long love of the sport, and teaching athletes to have a strong sense of respect for themselves and others.
San Diego Girls VBC has earned 3 National Championships, was the first club to host local tournaments, and has had hundreds of alumni who have played or are playing in college. Seaside Boys VBC has earned 4 National Championships, was the first boys’ club to host local tournaments, and has also had hundreds of alumni who have played or are playing in college. Seaside 17-Mikasa won the 2010 17 Open Junior National Championship, and in 2017 Seaside 17 Black took Bronze at the Nationals. Seaside is the only boys’ club in San Diego to win a national championship, with 4 titles.
San Diego and Seaside Volleyball Club allows team camps in the rear lot for no fee. Only water is allowed on the courts, and any outside food and drinks must stay on the non-playing surface, with coolers and tables kept outside. Within a mile of the club there are numerous places to eat and shop.
