About

Animal Adventures in Music – Early Childhood Music Lessons is a private, one-to-one lesson program where each child works with one teacher. Lessons use a structured curriculum that includes learning rhythm, note reading, and instrument introduction and exposure through games, activities, and fun weekly homework. Each lesson is divided into three 10-minute sections called Table Time, Rug Time, and Stage Time, with Rug Time using a music staff rug and backyard-style games and Stage Time focusing on hands-on exploration, listening, and learning about instruments such as the voice, guitar, violin, flute, drums, saxophone, cello, trumpet, clarinet, and piano/keyboard, along with recitals for interested students.

• Ages: 3–6 years old
• Schedule: Lessons are available in 30, 45, and 60-minute sessions and occur once each week; it takes most students approximately 60 weeks to complete the entire program and graduate to private instrument or vocal lessons.
• Price: Tuition is $169/mo for 30-minute sessions, $253/mo for 45-minute sessions, and $338/mo for 60-minute sessions; tuition includes all lesson materials, books, a tote bag and a spinning medal upon passing each level, and recitals for interested students.

The Animal Adventures in Music program includes 10 levels, 10 books, and 10 instruments, with each level corresponding to a themed book featuring a different instrument. The books contain learning activities, games, stickers, and more, and students receive a special themed medal featuring the color and animal character from each level upon completion. By graduation, students can identify and understand basic music symbols, read and clap rhythms from quarter note to sixteenth note, and read three octaves of notes on the grand staff, and the program prepares students to begin private lessons in an age-appropriate instrument of their choice.

San Dimas Music Academy was founded with a mission to provide a welcoming and encouraging space for students and families to unleash their creative potential through music. The academy finds and hires teachers who are talented musicians in their own right, and the entire staff and teaching faculty are background checked. The Level Up Music Achievement Program is described as a structured, nationally-recognized approach that uses certificates, wristbands, and stickers to track growth from level 1 to 10, similar to martial arts belts.

San Dimas Music Academy offers a wide variety of instruments so families can use it as a one stop shop for music lessons and provides a free band workshop called “Tomorrow’s Rockstars” throughout the year to all students. The academy offers unlimited make-up lessons with an online student portal for rescheduling, two recitals each year usually held at Boston Court Pasadena, professional office staff available seven days a week, month-to-month lessons with no long-term commitments, a proven track record of excellence trusted by hundreds of families since 2011, and an annual free picture day with a professional photographer where students can bring instruments.
