Aim High is designed for current 5th–8th middle school students who have limited access to summer academic enrichment programs and is committed to providing a multi-summer learning experience beginning in 5th grade through 8th grade. The program’s behavior expectations and interventions are rooted in restorative practices, which are implemented as a way to prevent as well as respond to conflict, harm, and wrong-doing, and it is guided by CORE values of Community, Opportunity, Respect, and High Expectations. Early Drop Off starting at 8:00am and Extended Care until 5:00pm are offered at Oakland, San Pablo, Richmond, Napa, San Rafael, and San Jose campuses, and students begin the program one week after teachers. Aim High is not equipped with a full SPED department at summer program locations and is unable to provide 1:1 full day support for students.

One Aim High parent described the program as “a lifeline for me as a working parent” and noted that communication has been easy, program offerings have been “great,” and that it gave their child “a taste of middle school transitions between classes, different kinds of enrichment opportunities, new sports, and mentorship.”
