Alliance Française de San Francisco French Tutoring and Classes for Kids and Teens offers summer camps, onsite classes, online classes, and online afterschool classes. The program also offers AP French tutoring, exam prep classes, conversation classes, specific topic classes, corporate classes, and private classes. Families can also take part in activities such as Movie Nights, Language Exchange, Café Conversation, concerts, art openings, theater plays, Francophonie, Fête de la Musique, a Winter fair, museum visits, and library visits.

Alliance Française de San Francisco has been serving the San Francisco Bay Area community since 1889. Classes have 4–12 students and are taught by native speakers. Its mission is to promote the knowledge and appreciation of French language and Francophone cultures. It is an American nonprofit public charity tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in the State of California. It is the oldest Alliance Française chapter in the United States and is the official exam center for DELF/DALF, TCF, and DFP for Northern California. The organization offers a large catalog of online classes for kids, teens, and adults, a dedicated online exercise platform, and a complete pedagogical program for all classes, along with a library of resources and a training program to support teachers.
Alliance Française de San Francisco hosts one to two regular events each week such as Café Conversation, Movie Night, Art Night, and Language Exchange, as well as large events every trimester such as Francophonie, Fête de la Musique, and a Winter fair. It also organizes additional events with community partners every month. The organization houses the oldest French library in the Bay Area and the largest collection of French books west of the Mississippi, which is open to the public, and includes the new Musée d'Histoire de la Communauté Francophone, a Francophone museum opened in 2024 with free entrance and reservation required. Public library and museum hours run Tuesday to Thursday from 10:00am to 4:00pm (closed from 12:00pm to 1:00pm) and Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm, with Sunday and Monday closed. Office hours are Tuesday 9:30am to 6:00pm (closed from 12:00pm to 1:00pm), Wednesday 11:30am to 6:00pm, Thursday 9:30am to 6:00pm (closed from 12:00pm to 1:00pm), Friday and Saturday 9:30am to 1:00pm, and Sunday and Monday closed. Holiday closures in 2026 include New Year’s Day on Wednesday, January 1; the Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 19; Washington’s Birthday on Monday, February 16; Memorial Day on Monday, May 25; Summer Break with no classes from Monday, June 22 to Saturday, June 27; Independence Day (observed) on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4; Labor Day on Monday, September 7; Thanksgiving week from Monday, November 23 to Saturday, November 28; and Winter Break from Monday, December 21 to Thursday, December 31.
