About
Soccer Stars (San Francisco Bay Area) offers youth soccer training through year-round soccer camps, seasonal kids soccer classes, and weekly games in the Soccer Stars Rec League. The program includes Parent & Me pre-soccer music and movement sessions, the Super Soccer Stars youth soccer program, the Soccer Stars United competitive soccer program, and the Shining Stars soccer program for children with developmental challenges. Families can also book private 1-on-1 or small group classes, soccer-themed birthday parties, and camps and clinics, including summer and holiday camps, as well as school enrichment programs held before and after school or during the school day.
• Ages: 1–12 years old
• Schedule: Office hours Monday–Friday 9AM–6PM and weekends 8AM–5PM
Soccer Stars has offered year-round soccer camps and seasonal kids soccer classes for over 25 years. The program uses an age-specific curriculum that includes imaginative-based games and focuses on gross motor and soccer skills, life skills taught through soccer, and teamwork. The Shining Stars program allows children with developmental challenges to work at their own pace, and private classes are completely personalized for individual players or small groups.
Soccer Stars coaches are required to undergo extensive background checks and participate in rigorous training programs, and the curriculum is crafted by soccer experts and child development professionals. Coaches bring a blend of soccer and early childhood development experience, work with a low kid-to-coach ratio, and use positive reinforcement. The organization describes its overall approach as a fun, non-competitive, and nurturing environment, with programs described as helping children grow physically and emotionally and build self-confidence and socialization skills.
The Soccer Stars Bay Area leadership team includes Colin Dobson (Regional Director - San Francisco Bay Area), Desiree Robertson (Coaching Coordinator), and Jonalyn Fernandez and Vanessa Zambas (Operations & Customer Service). Soccer Stars Bay Area partners with the Parks and Recreation departments of Mill Valley, Berkeley, Piedmont, El Cerrito, Brisbane, Foster City, San Bruno, Burlingame, Redwood City, and American Canyon to provide soccer coaching at local fields and community centers. The organization describes its overall pathway as a “Crib-to-College Player Pathway” and states that it is dedicated to safe and positive experiences on the field.
